Hurricane Matthew Recovery Efforts

Flooding in North Carolina from Hurricane Matthew has caused $1.5 billion in damage to 100,000 homes, businesses and government buildings, authorities estimate.

Hard hit Robeson County had more than 20,000 people without electricity as of Friday morning, the Associated Press reports. A county spokeswoman told the AP a substation and a number of power lines were still under water.  According to the NCDPS, that’s just over half of the total outages in the state, which as of Friday morning stood just under 39,000.

Working with the Red Cross and other other volunteer disaster recovery agencies, the Cornerstone is spearheading  disaster recovery efforts in Duplin County.   Please contact us to help!
